HUDSON LAMB IS INNOCENT by Joe England.

Hudson Lamb, Bill Ripley and Liam Drake have never crossed paths – even though their dysfunctional traits are very much entrenched – but they all want to make right so many wrongs and become winners for the first time. Standing in the way is an FA Cup replay, jealousy, paranoia, drugs, alcohol, bad luck, an audition for a TV gameshow and Blade Owen, an unforgiving old man. Hudson Lamb Is Innocent questions identity when faced with uncertainty. But when failure threatens to prevail, can there ever be a winner?

  • East London Press are proud to announce our fifth book release. The much anticipated debut novel from former PUSH founder and editor, Joe England.
  • Hudson Lamb Is Innocent is a powerful novel with authentic voices tested in extreme circumstance. Loosely based around a fictional FA Cup replay, the three main narrators each find themselves struggling to conquer compelling situations. Author John King has hailed the novel as ‘a brilliant debut.’
  • Having founded PUSH in March 2013, Joe’s literary fanzine grew into one of the most important publications of its time. Featuring working class fiction, poetry, artwork and photography as well as interviews with artists and writers that included; Thurston Moore, Matt Johnson. Roddy Doyle, David Peace, Jah Wobble, John King, Youth and Linton Kwesi Johnson. The fanzine sold over 8,000 copies. The last issue was published in October 2016.
  • Joe also produced the West Ham fanzine, 5MANAGERS. Comedian and TV personality Phill Jupitus said it was the best West Ham fanzine since the late 1980s legendary, Fortunes Always Hiding. While following a similar format and style to PUSH, the fanzine included contributions from an array of talented West Ham supporters as well as exclusive interviews that included: Frank McAvennie, Mark Ward, Frank Lampard Senior, John Sissons and Irvine Welsh.
  • When both fanzines were no longer in publication, Joe began writing Hudson Lamb Is Innocent.
  • At East London Press we believe in publishing writers and artists whose work reflects subculture and the local communities in which they inhabit. Joe England’s debut novel fits that criteria.
